SUMMIT 2005


October 14, 2005 brought us our 9th Annual Domestic Violence Summit. Our topic was, "Breaking the Silence" -- Elder and Vulnerable Adult Abuse. Our Keynote speaker was Bonnie Brandl.Ms. Bonnie Brandl is the Project Coordinator for the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life, which is a project of the Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence. NCALL provides technical assistance, training and consultation on domestic abuse in later life. Ms. Brandl has worked with battered women and their children for more than 15 years and the WCADV for 12 years. Her published articles, manuals and booklets on domestic abuse in later life have been distributed throughout the country. For the past nine years, she has presented at numerous national, regional, statewide and local conferences on domestic and elder abuse. She is on the board of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the National Association of Adult Protective Service Worker Administrators Foundation.

Ms. Brandl presented two keynote addresses, the first was on "Domestic Violence in Later Life", the second on "Elders Abused by Adult Children."
