- Joe Barrios is doing random home visits through treatment.
- The school district/health department are doing the following programs for Hispanics; parenting classes, and domestic violence at Olympic College in the Humanities Department, room #100 from 5:30 PM through 7:30 PM.
- Joe Barrios is doing anger management, cultural awareness (which includes laws, children, wives); he is doing (2) two counseling sessions - even with N.S.P. they do (10) ten groups; ADIS.
- Domestic Violence Perpetrator training in November and December for the internship. 125 sup. Hours. NO 6,000 hours in internship. N.W. Services might be able to work through. 3,000 hours in gang intervention.

- Churches in Guatamala are working on these issues. The churches in Oregon are really working on these D.V. issues. Bill Thompson - dates and training. Local churches in our area that are assisting Hispanics are: Jehovah Witness have conservative interpretation. They help with translation for doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and general helping. St. Olaf's, St. Gabriel's, Prince of Peace/Gloria Lincoln (a lot of the Guatemalan families are attending here), St. Cecelia's, and Living Water.
- Shelton has had (4) four sweeps with I.N.S.; Hiawatha's - crown makers. $1,700.00 to get across the border; $1,000.00 up from $10,000.00; and $15,000.00 from Guatemala.
- Joe Raymond said that Lynn and Tammy Free from the Latter Day Saints are helping with Hispanics both in, and out of Kitsap County.

- The state of Arizona is currently training staff, and the staff is getting paid to take Spanish language classes. There is also a 24-hour hotline in Mexico where women and children can see about relocating; schooling, mental health treatment, and there is a domestic violence safe house strictly for Hispanic women and children.
- Mc Kinsey River Gathering. Applying for grant - territorial; set up a hotline; locate key people to speak Spanish.
- Training to get a certified treatment provider.
- Legal advocate Glenda from the Y.W.C.A. understands Spanish.
- Denise Thompson from j.v. - Youth Violence Committee is on 11/15/00 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
- N.W. Services out of Aberdeen.
- In Yakima Hispanic women are meeting to discuss religious issues, and domestic violence in the morning. Major issues include getting the clergy to become involved. Amiga's train and coordinate victim funds/services for the Hispanic farm-working women.
- Gene Mc Cann is on the D.V. Task Force, 3240 N.W. Lowell Street, Silverdale.
- Ceremonies for female Hispanics begin on their 15th birthday, and include the following: pre-marital training; October is rosary month. Female Hispanics are normally more educated than their male counterparts. Ceremonies for male Hispanics are few, if any.
- The death of a family starts with domestic violence.
- Marcy Kittelson advised the group not to spread themselves too thin.
Decisions Reached
- The next Domestic Violence Minority Meeting will be held on January 23, 2001 @ 2:00 PM.
- Let Hispanic victims know that there is a "free" E.S.O.L. class at the library that is available to them.
