Sue Shultz called the meeting to order.
September minutes were presented but could not be approved due to lack of attendance.
Financial report: Financial report was handed out.
Committee reports:
Program/Community Outreach- Looking to have the quarterly on Jan 15 at 6PM. Joan & Steve are looking for venues. Subject is going to be internet safety. Sue Shultz went to Bainbridge Island Parent/Youth conference that was held on a Sat. at the High School and it was packed. It was from 9-2. There was one keynote and several breakouts. She was going to check on price. The keynote was Madeline Levine and she was fantastic. There were also several vendor tables. Thinking about having next year's Summit on a Sat.
Financial: Minority Services/El Centro received 3 grants. One from Port Gamble tribe for 2,500, one from Tulalip for 3,000 and one from Suquamish for 500. The board questioned the grant money going through the Task Force to El Centro. They want Rebecca to look into it.
Bridging the Gaps: no report
Faith Committee: The Faith Trust Institute that the Task Force helped fund went really well. It was held at the YWCA and was packed solid.
Respect group: Has requested funds for showing the 08 high school winning play on BKAT TV. The board was unable to vote at this time.
Minority Services: Received $6,000 from the Appendix X grants. (See finance above)
Medical: No report.
Perpetrator/TX: Going well. Have a good turnout at meetings. There is concern right now over requests being made of TX providers for evaluations and assessments. Some are providing these for the courts and it is really out of their scope to do so. To have a true evaluation done requires a lot of money. Possibly $10,000 to do real in depth evaluations.
Kitsap Advocate Group: Silent Witness was a success with the help of the Seabees and Parker Lumber. Thank you letters are going out to them.
Alumni: No report
Membership committee: Sue Shultz and Susan Dewees are lining up interviews for board members.
New Business: Looking into meeting places for next year. Still maybe at the Parks dept in Bremerton. Also looking for next year's Summit. Also looking for stickers of support for donors. Example "We Support the KCDVTF"
Old Business:
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joan Taie
Administrative Coordinator
