BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
October 25, 2005 NOON
Bremerton Parks Dept.

Board members present: Susan Dewees, Dave Bell, Sue Shultz , Oudy Acosta Perez, Laurie Adamson, Benny Myers, Sandy Robbins, Sharlyne Hays & Jody Stewart.

Board members excused: Claire Bradley, Rebecca Jones Garcia, & Kelly Pelland.

Board members not excused: Laura Grayum & Jackie Aitchison.

Others present: Joan Taie, Administrative Assistant

Susan Shultz called the meeting to order.

October minutes approved.

Financial report: Financial report was handed out.

Committee reports:

Program/Community Outreach- Planning a new committee with Alumni of the board. Those members names were given to Joan so she can contact them to invite them to the luncheon meeting on Dec. 6th at the Yacht Club in Silverdale. The board voted to have the Task Force pay for lunches at the Dec. meeting for both the board and Alumni guests. Lunches being paid for each year will be put on the Retreat agenda along with the budget. The quarterly will be held on Jan. 24th 2006 at the Silverdale Lutheran Church. Sharlyne will be contacting the Fatality Review Board to present and Sue Shultz will be contacting Mr & Mrs. Judson, parents of Crystal Brame to also speak. Silent Witness silhouettes might be available from the Eastside DV for $100 donation. The Award ceremony is going to be turned into a luncheon instead of an evening event. Talking about having it at Mary Mac's in Port Orchard. It will be held on May 16th. Once the time and location is confirmed Joan will email out nomination forms. The next program meeting will be Dec. 13th at the YWCA. The quarterly events are going to be better advertised - billboards, flyer inserts etc.

Bridging the Gaps: No Report

Faith Committee: Two women at Christian Life Center in PO have shown interest in attending board meetings. Kathy Butler was the contact. Joan will send a letter.

Respect group: no report

Minority Services: El Centro will be submitting a request for funds for the Safeway cards. The youth of Silverdale Lutheran Church raised over $300 for El Centro.

Medical: No report.

Perpetrator/TX: There was a meeting last week. Sandra Bruno is retiring. There were several new attendees at the meeting. Meetings are going to probably be every other month. Quarterly Advocates, TX & probation will meet to get topics. Susan will email Joan with the next meeting date.

Membership committee: Susan D., Sue S., Oudy & Sandy will be interviewing applicants on Dec. 3rd at 10am at the Fire Station 1 on Park Ave.

New Business: Board voted unanimously to contribute $500 toward the 1 in 4 production in March for OC Women's Program.
