On Aug. 29th they are hosting a "panty party" collecting undergarments for the shelter.

Roger Roffman & Joan Zegree for the UW spoke about a pilot program that focuses on Perps. Called Men's Domestic Abuse Check-up. They received grant money for the project and hope by partnering with groups such as the Task Force they can continue with it. They have ads on TV, radio, billboards, buses etc. Their goal is to get better awareness of the service. It is confidential for the perp who calls an 800 number where he/she can discuss the issues concerning them. The purpose is to some what evaluate over the phone and then guide them to the help that they need in hopes of deterring them from performing any further violent acts. The group is sending pamphlets to Jackie for the KC Fair and will stay in touch with the TF. They will need to get the pamphlets into the courthouses, etc.
