Tracking statistics are an important part of meeting our community education goals and satisfying our funding sources. You can complete the forms online and print to your local printer, then mail them or you can fill them out, save under a new name to your local hard drive and send the form by attaching it to an email to the KCDVTF. Board members present Oudy Acosta Perez, Sue Shultz, Dave Bell,, Sharlyne Hays, Joyce Figueroa de Raschke, Kevin Grandy & Lynda Walters.
Board members excused: Jackie Aitchison, Steve Garcia, Laurie Adamson, Sandy Robbins, Rebecca Jones Garcia, Susan Dewees, Benny Myers, Jody Stewart & Mike Lasnier.
Board members not excused: Laura Grayum.
Others present: Joan Taie, Administrative Assistant & Steve Robins from Northwest Justice Project.
Sharlyne called the meeting to order.
March minutes were approved.
Financial report: Financial report was handed out and explained.
GUESTS: Steve Robins is an Attorney who works with only low-income clients. Mostly DV & custody issues (family law). He has contacted YWCA to get referrals. If NW Justice can't take a client they will refer them out and pay for it. Steve does family law, child support, divorce. They do civil and tribal cases. Evictions etc. Right now there is no waiting. 1st come 1st served. If it gets busy urgent cases will take priority.
Committee reports:
Program/Community Outreach- Chris Endreson is going to announce award winners at the luncheon. Sherry Appleton will speak on current issues surrounding DV. Still working on Summit. Need a catchy title - descriptive. The plan is to open with video of DV crime then move to live actors for the investigation. PowerPoint will also be used and a panel will be available for questions at the end. Jackie is going to write a letter to OC Professor requesting actors for auditions. She will email Laurie. Oudy's daughter could hand deliver also.

Bridging the Gaps: No Report
Faith Committee: No Report
Respect group: They are working on putting together "Silence Witness Project" Silhouettes of victims of DV in Kitsap. They are asking the Task Force to fund it. The board voted all in favor of purchasing the book of instructions for 18.95. Then they will readdress funding when they have a better idea of costs.
CK Family night went very well. Over 300 attended. Last year only 30 showed up.
Minority Services: Meeting tomorrow (Wed. April 26) Olivia Dennis from Kitsap County Volunteer Legal Services will be speaking along with April Bourbon from NW Regional Emergency Medical Service & Trauma Care Council.
Medical: No report.
Perpetrator/TX: Meeting May 11th. Roy Carson will be speaking from DSHS regarding perp/tx certification.
Membership committee: No update
New Business: Meeting for strategic planning scheduled for May 23rd. Bylaws will also be addressed regarding membership limits.
Old Business:
A. Evaluations - 6 back so far. Waiting for more.
B. The Task Force is donation $500 to Dayle Cranes 3 day through Prudential who will match it.
