March 8, 2011
YWCA, Bremerton 4 PM

Present: Ronnie Mullins, Barbara Chandler-Young, Jennifer Mick, Alaina Carrol, Jackie Brown, Tom Stokes, Carol Etgen, Pam O'Neil-Allen, Crystal Gray (by proxy) and Joan Taie, Administrative Assistant.

The meeting was called to order at 4 PM by Ronnie Mullins

Minutes for February 2011 were approved as written. Volunteer timesheets were filled out and given to Joan.

Financial Report

Joan presented the February 2011 Financial report. The Financial reports were accepted by the Board.

Committee Reports

Program/Community Outreach:

" The Quarterly will be on April 19, 2011 at the Jackson Park Community Center in Bremerton WA. Anika Patel from the WSCADV/ Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence will be the guest speaker. She will give a summary of the 2010 Fatality Review. It is the sixth and final report which includes data from 1997 through 2010, strategies for using the Fatality Review as a tool for change, eleven key goals for change, and topics and recommendations included in all six reports.

" The Community Picnic will be Tuesday July 26, 2011 at Evergreen Park in Bremerton. The community donations are being collected for the picnic.

" The Annual Educational Summit will be October 14, 2011 at Crossroads Church in Bremerton. The topic for the Summit will be the Effects of Domestic Violence on Children and Youth.

" The Soroptomist of Greater Bremerton has requested a presentation from the KCDVTF about Domestic Violence. Pam O'Neil-Allen and Jackie Brown will speak to the group at their April 12th meeting. The Soroptomist of Greater Bremerton donated the $500.00 prize money to the RESPECT PSA contest.

Faith Community Action Group: No Report

Triple Play: The speaker for the March 15th meeting was Pam O'Neil-Allen. She gave an overview of the US Navy's Family Advocacy Program for domestic violence victims. The speakers for the April meeting will be two perpetrator treatment providers from our community. They will share about their agencies. The Kitsap County Triple Play website will be up and running soon.

Respect: We had three winners for our first PSA contest on Teen Dating Violence Prevention. The local High School winners will be presented their certificates at the April Quarterly event at Jackson Park. You can view the PSA's at the KCDVTF website.

Minority: No report

Perpetrator Treatment/Victim's Services: No report. The meeting in March was cancelled.

Membership: We currently have 3 openings on the Board. There are two community members who are interested in joining the KCDVTF Board. They will complete the applications and we will conduct the interviews later.

Old Business: If you cannot attend a Board meeting, delegate someone as your proxy who will vote for you during your absence. Please send an e-mail to the secretary so it can be attached to the monthly minutes.

New Business: The YWCA ALIVE Program has requested donations of larger size diapers; size 4, 5, and 6. They also need gently used clothing for women and children.
