You can complete the forms online and print to your local printer, then mail them or you can fill them out, save under a new name to your local hard drive and send the form by attaching it to an email to the KCDVTF. Present: Joyce Figueroa de Raschke, Crystal Gray, Barbara Chandler-Young, Carol Lynn Etgen, Jackie Brown, Sue King, Pam O'Neil-Allen, Joe Dudley and Joan Taie, Administrative Assistant.
The meeting was called to order at 4:15 PM by Joyce Figueroa de Raschke
Minutes for October 2009, and November 2009 were approved as written. Volunteer timesheets were filled out and given to Joan.
Financial Report
Joan presented the November 2009 and December 2009 Financial report. The Financial reports were accepted by the Board.
Committee Reports
Program/Community Outreach: No Report
Faith Community Action Group: Meeting is on hold until April or May 2010.
Triple Play: Meeting is scheduled for 10 AM on 3/10/10 at Ollala Guest Lodge.
Respect: Teen Dating Violence Workshop is scheduled for 12/19/10 at Olympic College. The cost is $25.00 per person. A request was made to the board to purchase 50 three ring binders for the workshop. The purchase request was not accepted by the board as a quorum was not present. An e-mail vote will be sent to all board members for approval. Copies of the DVD/Teen Dating Violence Play will be made in February and given out to all area Junior and Senior High Schools.
Treatment Providers/Victims Services: The December 15, 2009 meeting was well attended. The guest speaker was Maury Baker; Chief Prob. The topic was "How are they handling the Financial Cutbacks?"
Minority: No Report
Membership: New board membership interviews will be done at 12 PM on Friday 1/15/10 at the YWCA. Barbara Chandler-Young, Crystal Gray, Joyce Figueroa de Raschke, and Pam O'Neil-Allen will do the interviews with the 2 new applicants.
Old Business: Attendance to the KCDVTF monthly board meeting was discussed. Suggestions were; change the time and location for the meeting and having the meetings via webinars. Continue our fundraisings with Albertson donation cards and Appleby's Fundraiser.
New Business: The funds that were raised at the Appleby's Fundraiser in December 2009 are $54.99. One half will go to the ALIVE Shelter. E-bay customers can donate a portion of their selling price directly to the KCDVTF. Flyers will be distributed in Kitsap County for donations.
The retreat is tentatively set up for March 12, 2010. We are looking at new locations. There is a possibility of using a room without cost at the Juvenile Detention Center, or the conference room at the Norm Dicks Building. Renting the Long Lake Community Center is $236.25. Carol will send an e-mail if the rooms are available. We will be looking into the possibility of using the Jackson Park Community Center for our Quarterly Meetings.
The first Quarterly meeting will be February 23, 2010 at Crossroads Church in Bremerton from 6 to 8 PM. David Johnson from WA State Labor & Industry will be the guest speaker. He will be discussing the new Leave Laws for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. The second Quarterly meeting will be April 27, 2010. The guest speaker will be Dr. Dale Todd.
New board member positions were voted via the e-mail vote and approved. Carol Lynn Etgen is Chair, Crystal Gray is Vice-Chair, Barbara Chandler-Young is Treasurer, and Pam O'Neil-Allen is Secretary.
