PROGRAM/COMMUNITY OUTREACH
There will more than likely be no grant money from the KCSO Grant's to encourage arrests. This year's grant is available until August 2009 so we need to begin planning ASAP. Jolene wants the board to bring ideas to the January meeting. Think about who the target audience should be. Decide where we are going before we plan advertising.
Retreat location is going to be confirmed by Joyce. Oudy was not available and she was reserving Island Lake. Board agreed to have an 8 hour retreat not counting set-up/clean-up. Susan D is looking into speakers from WSCADV to talk about Board legalities and responsibilities. They would talk for approximately 2 hours and Joyce will see if Georgene Smith (Financial Auditor) will talk about our books and how we can improve for an hour or so.
PERPETRATOR TREATMENT/VICTIM'S SERVICES - No Report
FAITH COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP - No Report
PROGRAM/COMMUNITY OUTREACH - Jolene spoke to the Soroptomist of Port Orchard about DV. Debbie Brockman and Jolene both spoke to Kitsap County Chemical dependency Provider Coalition at their Summit.
Triple Play - Arranging a trip to Drug Court. A drug counselor from KRC will be accompanying them. The trip is tentatively scheduled for some time in January. Barbara will let everyone know via email. The Chemical Dependency Summit was very interesting. Barbara was surprised by the responses to Debbie & Jolene's talk. She feels it shows that there is a lot of work to still be done.
RESPECT - Crystal said the RESPECT committee will be filming the plays in March. The DVTF will own the rights to the film. February 20th at OC the Teen Dating Violence workshop will be held. The cost is $20 and includes light breakfast and lunch. It will be from 9 to 3. Space is limited to 40. They will be getting the poster contest information to the schools in early January and the contest end will be March 6th.
