BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
November 25, 2003 Noon
Kitsap County Health District

Board Members Present: Sue Shultz, Sandy Robbins, Oudy Acosta Perez, Laurie Adamson, Susan Vitale-Olson, Dave Bell, Susan Dewees & Lauren Fanning.

Board Members Excused: Claire Bradley, Debbie Brockman, Kelly Pelland, Sandy Robbins.

Board Members Not Excused: Tracy Flood, Dave Skelton, Martha Voorhees. Others Present: Joan Taie (Administrative Coordinator)

Debbie Brockman called the meeting to order.

I. Approval of Minutes: Minutes were approved for October.

II. Financial Report: Volunteer sheets were turned in. P&L was passed out and explained.

III. Committee Reports

Program -Quarterly - Discussed moving the Quarterly to Tuesday Febuary 24th to have more time to prepare. Under Sheriff Bonniville and Benny Myers attended our last Program mtg. They agreed that it needs to be an open forum and offer it to all LE & FF personnel and their families. Looking for a Facilitator instead of a speaker. Someone outside of the area. Working on ways to invite guests. Possible to go through the associations.

Community Education A. Speakers Bureau/Trainings - Met with legislators went well. Speaking on Dec 11 in BI.

2. Topic Specific Workgroups a. Bridging the Gap: No Report.

b. Faith Community Action Group: No Report.

c. Substance Abuse Providers: No Report RESPECT Kitsap Youth: Drama group is going to perform at the Sklallum Tribe youth conference, Feb. 13, 2004 Barbara Mills is working on a healthy exercise program and is trying to get it in the curriculum.

d. Perpetrator Treatment/Victim's Services: No Report

e. Minority Services - we are starting DV education & parenting classes in Spanish. Still working on trying to get the no contact orders issued by Tribe to get inputted into the county system immediately. Right now it takes up to 15 days.

f. Membership - SVO is going to contact the Tribe regarding a rep. On board. Oudy is contacting Lt. Ken Johnson from Suquamish.
