BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
October 28, 2003 Noon
Kitsap County Health District

Board Members Present: Debbie Brockman, Dave Skelton, Martha Voorhees, Kelly Pelland, Susan Dewees.

Board Members Excused: Claire Bradley, Lauren Fanning, Sue Shultz, Sandy Robbins, Susan Vitale-Olson, Dave Bell.

Board Members Not Excused: Oudy Acosta Perez, Laurie Adamson, Tracy Flood.

Others Present: Joan Taie (Administrative Coordinator)

Debbie Brockman called the meeting to order.

I. Approval of Minutes: Minutes were approved for September.

II. Financial Report: Volunteer sheets were turned in. P&L was passed out.

III. Committee Reports

Program - Discussed last Summit briefly and touched on next years Summit focus. Debbie mentioned Barbara Ehrenreich, Sarah Buel, Susan Schechter and Francine ? (spoke at LE academy and was very compelling) Quarterly - Focus is leaning toward DV in LE. Questions: What progress has been made with LE policies. What happens to LE who have committed DV? This will be discussed at our next program meeting. Law Enforcement has been invited to attend.

Community Education A. Speakers Bureau/Trainings - No Report

2. Topic Specific Workgroups a. Bridging the Gap: Kelly Pelland and Debbie Brockman are going to head this group while Claire is on leave.

b. Faith Community Action Group: The Forum went well despite the low attendance. Candy Cardinal did great with dating violence information.

c. Substance Abuse Providers: No Report

RESPECT Kitsap Youth: No report

d. Perpetrator Treatment/Victim's Services: Ramalina and Martha are working on curriculum for perp treatment program.

e. Minority Services - No Report

g. Membership - We have four applications for 3 spots. We will be talking to applicants in November.

IV. Old Business -

V. New Business - Susan D. is asking for a donation to the YWCA for their brochure printing. She will have an amount at the next meeting. December mtg. will be 3rd Tuesday, Dec 15th at Either Mary Mac's or Tweeten's in Port Orchard.
