KITSAP COUNTY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TASK FORCE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
July 22, 2003 5:00 P.M.
Silverdale Lutheran Church

Board Members Present: Tracy Flood, Debbie Brockman, Dave Bell, Dave Skelton, Lauren Fanning, Sue Shultz, Oudy Acosta Perez, Kelly Pelland, Susan Dewees, Susan Vitale Olson, Laurie Adamson, Martha Voorhees, Sandy Robbins.

Others Present: Joan Taie (Administrative Coordinator), Joanne (Kitsap Sexual Assault Center)

Sue Shultz called the meeting to order.

I. Approval of Minutes: Minutes were approved for June.

II. Financial Report: Volunteer sheets were turned in. P&L was passed out. Benny is checking on a grant for the Summit funding from the Deputy Guild.

III. Committee Reports Program - Working on Summit after tonight's Picnic.

A. Community Education

B. Speakers Bureau/Trainings - Sue Shultz and Sue V-O spoke at the last minute at a meeting. It went well in spite of lack of preparedness.

2. Topic Specific Workgroups

a. Bridging the Gap: No Meeting.

b. Faith Community Action Group: Spoke at St. Olaf's and Rolling Bay.

c. Substance Abuse Providers: No report

RESPECT Kitsap Youth: No Report

d. Perpetrator Treatment/Victim's Services: No report

Minority Services - YWCA is working on grant for Minority Services and El Centro. Kelly said they are trying to develop Victims Bill of Rights and No Contact Orders in other languages.

A. Joanne from Kitsap Sexual Assault Center joined us as part of the community meeting required for the VAWA grant. She asked where there are gaps in the system. The board's answer was - Bi-lingual services, counseling, legal and child care as the biggest issues.
